It is truly an honor to donate a portion of every Mahjong Tile Care Kit sale made through this site to the Alzheimer’s Association. This organization not only works tirelessly to advance critical research, but also provides invaluable support to caregivers, a mission that is especially meaningful to me. Both of my grandmothers were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and the toll it took on our family, particularly those providing their care, was immeasurable. In my previous role as a Caregiver Support Program Social Worker, I also witnessed firsthand the vital support the Alzheimer’s Association offers to caregivers. This cause is deeply personal, and I am grateful for the opportunity to join together with our customers to contribute in a way that helps make a meaningful difference for those affected by the disease.

Mimi was the ultimate hostess. She had a gift for bringing people together, always creating beautiful gatherings and making every guest feel truly special in her home. Even in her later years, she regularly hosted her sorority sisters, always thoughtfully curating the perfect tablescape. When I host friends for mahjong, I find myself channeling her spirit by setting a beautiful table and striving to create the same sense of warmth and welcome she so effortlessly provided.

Grandmother was my very first best friend and I miss her dearly. She would have absolutely loved my enthusiasm for something like mahjong. She rarely missed Bridge Club on Tuesdays and Fridays. Through her example, she taught me the importance of setting aside time for those things that bring us joy, beyond the many roles we hold such as a spouse, parent, employee/employer, friend, etc. That lesson continues to shape how I live and connect with others today, especially through mahjong.
