Our Care Method
Our suggested care method for cleaning any and all modern-day (non-porous) mahjong tiles is simple, convenient, effective, and most importantly, safe!
Use the items in our kit, in our suggested order, and the difference you will see and feel in your tiles will be immediate!! Your tiles will thank you! ;)
To get started, lay approximately half of your tile set face up on one of our signature 300 GSM microfiber Tile Towels.
Brush: Starting with your tiles face up, first use the SOFT-bristle brush to thoroughly brush the face of your tiles while they are still dry. This removes dust, dander, debris, food particles, etc. This first step is crucially important if your tiles are engraved or embossed.
Mist: Next, having already filled your Mister bottle with water, mist the tops of all of your tiles. This allows for a minimal amount of water to touch your tiles while still providing an effective clean. Should your tiles need extra pampering (most do), add 1/4 tsp of a mild dishwashing liquid to your Mister already filled with water, shake, and then mist the tops of your tiles.
***Note: The Mister is designed to safely hold and maintain liquid for extended periods of time without leaking. Simply fill it once, store it in your bag alongside your other care kit essentials, and take it with you whenever you play outside of your home setting. This allows your kit to always be accessible for convenient spot cleaning or for pampering your tiles wherever you choose to play!!
Polish: Lastly, use the circular polishing pad, aka The Dot, to polish your tiles. We recommend using a consistent pattern such as a circular motion or as simple as right to left, left to right, top to bottom, bottom to top, etc.
--------Flip the tiles over---------
Now repeat the steps above.
Brush. Mist. Polish.
---Dry with your 2nd Tile Towel---
***Note: Your tiles will have minimal moisture left after polishing, therefore you are able to quickly dry several at a time. Yes, it really is that simple.
TEST IT OUT: Before you empty out your tile bag to lay the 2nd half of your tiles out to repeat the above steps, please reach one hand inside your tile bag and lay the other hand on your freshly pampered tiles. The difference in the feel alone will be noticeably drastic. This right here is the feeling we got when we knew everyone needed this kit! Please tell your friends so everyone's tiles can look and feel just as good!!!!

The Mahjong Tile Care Kit has additional uses!!!!
Once your tiles are clean and while you have your care kit readily available, consider using one of your barely damp Tile Towels to wipe down any nearby wooden racks/pushers. The Brush also does wonders for cleaning random particles or debris on wooden racks. For plastic/acrylic type racks, use The Mister to provide an even mist and then use one of your Tile Towels to easily clean/dry them.
We also suggest using one of your barely damp Tile Towels to wipe out the inside of your tile bag or display container, prior to adding your freshly pampered tiles back in.
